Why should water be never added dropwise to concentrated sulphuric acid?

This is because the reaction between acid and water is highly exothermic and does it produces not of heat when what is added to acid, it results in vigoroes boiling of the solution and the amount of heat produces is enormous that it splashes the acid out of the containers which can result in acid burns.
