Nitrogen is the most abundant gas in our atmosphere. In fact it makes up 78% of our atmosphere and is also a part of many molecules essential to life like proteins, nucleic acids (DNAand RNA) and some vitamins. Moreover, it is found in other biologically important compounds such as alkaloids and urea. Thus, nitrogen is very important for us.
