The state of Jammu and Kashmir has two capitals. While Srinagar is the summer capital, Jammu is the winter capital.
In Jammu and Kashmir every year, there is a shift of the secretariat and all other government offices from Srinagar to Jammu and vice versa. From May to October, all the governmental offices are housed in Srinagar which is the summer capital of the state and from November to April, the offices are housed in Jammu which is the winter capital of the state.
