Why do we need to conserve mineral resources?
Answer:
- Mineral resources are basic requirement for economic development.
- Every sector of the national economy— agriculture, industry, transport, commercial and domestic — needs inputs of mineral resources.
- The economic development plans implemented since independence necessarily required increasing amounts of minerals to remain operational.
As a result, consumption of minerals in all forms has been steadily rising all over the country and we need to conserve it for the future.
