Who fought in the battle of Nagashino in 1575?
Answer:
The Battle of Nagashino in 1575 is often seen as the first “modern” battle in Japanese history. It was a battle between two groups who were vying for control of the Japanese shogunate: Takeda Katsuyori and the forces of Tokugawa Ieyasu and Oda Nobunaga. Together Tokugawa and Oda used their gunpowder troops in order to defeat Takeda’s cavalry and to entirely overwhelm his forces. Takeda lost over two thirds of his army in the battle, which left him entirely powerless to continue the conflict against Oda and Tokugawa.
