After WW1, David Lloyd George and Georges Clemenceau, the leaders of Britain and France, respectively, sought revenge against Germany in the form of territorial demands, blame, disarmament, and reparations. Woodrow Wilson, the US leader, sought reconciliation, peace, and a variety of other goals in his idealistic 14 Points. The US people and congress, however, wanted to stay isolated from the troubles of Europe and, as such, rejected US involvement in the League of Nations and other involvement with Europe.
