Which is the main cause of land degradation in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh? How can it be checked?

Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are semi-arid in nature With vast grasslands. Now large-scale overgrazing has caused severe land degradation in these states. Different measures may be taken to check such problems
(i) Afforestation and proper management of grazing.
(ii) Control on overgrazing.
