What were the results of the Third Anglo-Mysore War?
Following were the results of the Third Anglo-Mysore War:
- At the conclusion of the War in 1792, the Treaty of Seringapatnam was signed between Tipu Sultan and the English East India Company.
- Tipu Sultan was forced to cede half his kingdom to the trio of the British, the Marathas and the Nizam.
- Mysore was asked to pay a humongous war indemnity of 330 lakh rupees.
- Tipu Sultan also had to hand over two of his sons as hostages to the Company.
