What is the difference between force and thrust?

Thrust is a reaction force described quantitatively by Newton’s Second and Third Laws. When a system expels or accelerates mass in one direction the accelerated mass will cause a proportional but opposite force on that system. Now,the force is equal to rate of change of momentum. Thus thrust is rate of change of momentum in the direction opposite to direction of motion, one of the characteristics being that usually thrust is accompanied with change in mass.
