Cyclones usually occur in tropical areas over the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Tornadoes occur on all continents except Antarctica where cold and warm fronts meet.
Tropical cyclones can last for a days or days. Tornadoes typically last only for few minutes.
Their intensity is measured on the Beauford scale or the Saffir-Simpson scale. Their strength is measured on the Fujita scale
