What will be the potential energy of the body in the two cases? Give reason for your answer.
(i) Energy possessed due to the position of a body is called potential energy.
(ii) The work done against gravity in both the cases is mgh. It is independent of the path along which the body is moved and it depends only on the initial and final positions of the body.
