Bronze Age was third phase in the development of material culture. It following the Paleolithic (Old Stone Age) and Neolithic Periods(New Stone Age). The Bronze Age marked the first time humans started to work with metal. In this period, humans mixed copper with tin or zinc to produce an alloy called bronze. Because of the importance of bronze in the growth of the first civilisations, the period came to be known as the "Bronze Age’.
