What is biogas? Why is biogas considered as ah ideal fuel for domestic use?
The gas made from the anaerobic digestion of agricultural and animal wastes is called biogas. When the biomass (agricultural and animal wastes) is decomposed in the absence of oxygen, it releases biogas.
Biogas is considered as an ideal fuel because it:
- has a high calorific value.
- produces no smoke on burning.
- burns smoothly without any explosion.
- leaves no residue on combustion.
