What does the poet, Pam Ayres, regret? Why?

When the poet thought of all sorts of candies, tiny or bigger sweets that she had eaten, her conscience pricked her. Now, she has fillings and tooth decay in her molars. She regrets neglecting her teeth and her careless and casual approach towards brushing.
