What care must be taken for the disposal of biological wastes from pathological laboratories and hospitals?

Biological waste should be disposed because it may contain harmful germs or even viruses like HIV or HBV. If not disposed properly, it can infect normal human beings, with disastrous consequences. Untreated medical waste (also called ‘biological waste’) can safely be disposed in sanitary landfills, provided procedures to prevent worker contact with this waste during disposal are employed.
Normally, this is done by wearing appropriate gloves and a nose and mouth mask which can allow breathing, while filtering the air being breathed.
