Forests that are found in the tidal areas and the delta regions are known as the tidal forests. Two types of trees found here are sundari trees and gorjantrees.
The trees of the monsoon deciduous forests shed their leaves for about 6-8 weeks during the summer season due to the shortage of water. These forests are commercially exploited for timber.
Tropical evergreen forests are found on the western slopes of the Western Ghats.

Two methods for the conservation and development of forests in India are:
