Ethylene is used in following ways :
(a) Ripening of fruits like ethepon hastens fruit ripening in tomatoes and apples.
(b) Increase in number of fruits.
© In sprouting of storage organs such as rhizomes,
corms, tubers can be enhanced by exposing them to i ethylene.
(d) Ethylene accelerates abscission in flowers and fruits and is used for thinning of fruits like cotton, cherry etc.
