Movement Groups
The groups which try to achieve a single objective within a limited time frame or a broad goal in the very long-term, are . known as Movement Groups.
Examples of Issue-specific Movement Groups
People’s movement often describes many forms of collective action, like Narmada Bachao Andolan, Movement for Right to Information, Anti-liquor Movement in Andhra Pradesh by poor women, Environmental Movement, etc. Most of these movements are issue-specific movements.
Examples of Long-term Movement Groups The Nepalese movement for democracy arose with the specific objective of reversing the kings, order, i.e. to restore democracy by replacing monarchical power.
