The radio labelled carbon in carbon dioxide supplied to potato plants

The radio labelled carbon in carbon dioxide supplied to potato plants in an experiment was seen
in the tuber eventually. Trace the movement of the labelled carbon dioxide.

If a leaf of potato plant is illuminated in presence of radioactive , it forms radioactive products of photosynthesis. These products with radioactivity are then transported to the stem. It was detected by autoradiography that these substances are translocated through phloem and particularly through the sieve tubes.
