The density of turpentine at 293 K is given as 870 kg m^-3. Identify and write the names of substances that sink in turpentine at the same temperature.

Density of the turpentine oil = 870 kg m^-3
A substance will sink in the turpentine oil only, if its density is more than the density of the oil i.e., 870 kg m^-3. From the study of the table, it is clear that only cork and wood do not satisfy this condition, ice, rubber, paraffin wax and bone will sink.
