State two positions in which a concave mirror produces a magnified image of a given object. List two differences between the two images.

(i) Two positions:

  • When an object is placed between focus (F) and centre of curvature ©.
  • When an object is placed between focus (F) and pole §.

(ii) Differnece:

  • In first case, image formed is real and inverted.
  • In second case, image formed is virtual and erect.
