State the differences between thrust and pressure
Thrust:
- Thrust is the force that a body exerts perpendicularly on a surface.
- Its SI unit is newton (N).
- It is numerically equal to the weight of the object.
Pressure:
- The thrust on an unit area of surface is called pressure.
- Thus, pressure is ratio of thrust/force to the area.
- Its SI unit is newton per metre squared or pascal (Pa).
