Please explain the working of a moving coil galvanometer as I haven’t understood it clearly.
In a moving coil galvanometer, magnets are present and the two input terminals are connected to a coil similar to an open core solenoid.
When electric current is passed through the coil, a magnetic field is produced. This coil is connected to a pointer and is suspended along an axis by a leaf spring which holds it in an initial position.
Due to the magnetic field produced this coil tries to allign itself by the magnetic field already present and the spring tries to hold it back
Hence the amount of deflection produced is proportional to the current passed
