The main oilseeds grown in India are groundnuts, coconut, sesamum, castor, soyabean, linseed and sunflower.
(i) Most of them are edible oil used for cooking.
(ii) Some oilseeds are used as a raw material in the manufacture of soaps, cosmetics and ointments.
(iii) The Leading producers of groundnut are Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
