Make a distinction between hydroelectricity and thermal electricity stating three points of distinction.

Hydroelectricity is generated by fast flow in water while thermal electricity is generated by using coal, petroleum and natural gas.

  • Hydroelectricity is a permanent source of electricity as the supply water can not exhausted, because water is a renewable resource while on the other hand thermal power is not a permanent source of electricity as the coal, petroleum and natural gas are the non-renewable resources.
  • Though the hydel power and the thermal electricity are pollution free but at the production sburce of thermal electricity, generate high pollution.
  • Production cost of hydro-electricity is much cheaper than the thermal electricity.
