How are the criteria for deciding divisions in plants different from the criteria for deciding the sub-group among animals?
The body design of plants is very different from animals. The plants have body design based on their need to prepare their own food, whereas animals obtain their food from plants and other animals. In animals, other body features like presence of skeleton, etc. is used to make sub-groups rather than making broad groups.
