As an anti-poverty measure Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP) was launched in 1995.
The feature of REGP are
(i) Creation of self-employment opportunities in rural areas and towns.
(ii) Creation of 25 Lakh new jobs under the tenth five year plan.
