Give reasons for the following:
(i) Reaction of calcium with water is less violent.
(i) Calcium reacts with water to form calcium hydroxide and hydrogen. The heat produced in this reaction is less which is insufficient to burn the hydrogen gas which is formed. Hence, the reaction of calcium with water is less violent.
