Give an example of a non contact force which is always of attractive nature

(i) Give an example of a non contact force which is always of attractive nature.
(ii) How does the magnitude of this non contact force on the two bodies depend on the distance of separation between them?

(i) A non-contact force is the one which acts on a body without any physical contact. An example of the same is gravitational force . It is always attractive in nature.
(ii) Gravitational force is directly proportional to the product of masses of the two interacting bodies and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the two. Hence, we can say that the magnitude of force is inversely proportional to the square of the distance of separation.
