Facilitated diffusion involving membrane proteins

Facilitated diffusion involving membrane proteins is categorized under passive transport. Why?
Also draw a neat and labelled diagram showing facilitated diffusion.

Facilitated diffusion involves special protein-lined channels or carrier proteins situated in cell membranes, which provide sites for the movement of molecules. They do not set up a concentration gradient it is already present and do not utilise energy. Since, energy is not used up in facilitated diffusion, it js called passive transport.
