Explain why is air transport preferred in north eastern states of India.
PHYSIOGRAPHY of north eastern region is very difficult. It has dessected relief, dense forests, frequent floods and large number of rivers. All these condition do not allow road and rail transport freely and frequently. Through land transport, journey is very tiresome and time consuming. Therefore, air travel is preferred in this part of the country. There special provisions are also made to extend the services to common people at cheaper rate.
