- Tipu Sultan laid down his life while defending his capital Seringapatnam against the British.
- The kingdom of Mysore was annexed in the aftermath of the war.
- Half of the Mysore territories were divided between the Nizam and the English East India Company.
- The rest of the kingdom was returned to the Raja of Mysore from whom Hyder Ali had wrested power.
