Explain ‘reflex action’ with a suitable example.

Reflex Action: The automatic action or response provoked by a stimulus is called “reflex action”. The sensory nerves which detect a stimulus are connected to nerves which move muscles. Such a connection is termed as “reflex arc”. Reflex arc connections meet in a bundle in spinal cord. The signal and response which that has occured reachs our brain but brain does not coordinate reflex response. Example: We withdraw our hands on touching any hot article or plate.
