Explain how the battles of Tarain and Chandawar laid the foundations

Explain how the battles of Tarain and Chandawar laid the foundations of the Turkish rule in North India.

In the First Battle of Tarain in 1191, Prithviraj Chauhan’s army had routed the forces led by Muhammad Ghori. Therefore, Ghori returned to avenge his defeat and fought the Second Battle of Tarain against the Chauhans in 1192. In this battle, he won a comprehensive victory. Prithviraj Chauhan fled but was captured. Later the Turks attacked and captured Ajmer, although Prtihviraj was allowed to rule over it for some time. When Ghori returned next to India in 1194, he fought Jaichandra in the Battle of Chandawar near Kannauj, defeated him and won territories extending upto the borders of Bihar. This is how the Battles of Tarain and Chandawar laid the foundations of Turkish rule in North India.
