Draw the structures of white phosphorus and red phosphorus. Which one of these two types of phosphorus is more reactive and why?

White phosphorus is less stable and therefore is more reactive than red phosphorus under normal conditions because of angular strain in the P4 molecule where the angles are 60° only.
