Distinguish between the primary and secondary sectors of an economy.

Difference between the primary and secondary sectors:

Primary sector Secondary sector
The primary sector deals with the utilisation of natural resources such as mining, fishing, cultivation etc. The secondary sector uses the products of the primary sector as raw materials for their production.
This sector is also called the agriculture and related sector as most of the natural products are obtained from agriculture, dairy, fishing and forestry. As manufacturing and processing of raw materials takes place in this sector, this sector is also known as the industrial sector.
These products formthe base for the secondary sector. The finished products of this sector directly reach the consumers.
