Classify industries on the basis source of raw material. How are they different from each other.

On the basis of source of raw material industries are classified into two groups.

  1. Agro based industries
  2. Mineral based industries.

Difference

  • Agro based industries contain their raw materials from agricultural products while mineral based industries obtain their raw materials from minerals.
  • Cotton, jute silk and woollen textiles get their raw material from agriculture field- rubber, sugar, coffee, tea and edible oil are also products of agriculture based industries.
  • Iron and steel, cement, machine, tools petrochemicals the examples mineral based industries.
