Formula unit mass of CaSO4.1/2H2O
= (Number Calcium atoms x atomic mass of Calcium) + (Number Sulphur atoms x atomic mass of sulphur) + (Number Oxygen atoms x atomic mass of Oxygen) + (Number Water molecules x Molecular mass of water molecule)
=(1×40)+(1×32)+(4×16)+(1/2×18)
=40+32+64+9
=145 g

Hope the answer is correct.

But there’s an error you did ! You gave me the molecular mass of calcium sulphate dihydrate , I.e., Gypsum , while I needed that of hemihydrate. This is because you haven’t yet started 10th. You shall refer to the end topic of chapter 2 of your Science book ! You’ll get the difference. Still thanks ! Glad to know your knowledge. :innocent:
