(i) Sodium hydrogen carbonate is an essential ingredient in most antacids because it is slightly alkaline in nature.
(ii) The process is called chlor-alkali process. Here,chlor stands for chlorine and alkali for sodium hydroxide. The amount of hydrogen obtained is very less, thus, it is not given in the name of the process.
