A sells a bicycle to B at profit of 20% and B sells it to C at a profit of 5%

A sells a bicycle to B at profit of 20% and B sells it to C at a profit of 5%. If C pays Rs 3780 what did A pay for it

Let C.P. of A = x
Then, S.P. of A = C.P. of B = 1.2 x
S.P. of B = (1.2x) × (1.05) =1.26x
Therefore
1.26 x = 3780 x
x = 3000
Hence A Paid Rs. 3000 for the cycle.
