(a) Mendel crossed tall pea plants with dwarf pea plants in his experiment. Write his observations giving reasons on the F1 and F2 generations.
(b) List any two contrasting characters other than height that Mendel used in his
experiments in pea plants.
(a) Mendel took tall (TT) and dwarf (tt) pea plants and made a cross of these.
The F1 all progeny was tall (Tt). He allows F1 plants for self pollination. The F2 progeny produced Tall and dwarf plants in ratio of 3 Tall : 1 dwarf. It shows that both traits inherited in F1 but one could not express itself. Both expressed in F2 generation.
