(a) Explain how does burning of fossil fuels cause air pollution ? (b) Justify "Dust is a pollutant"

(a) Burning of fossil fuel produces gases like CO, CO2, SO2, NO2 and unbumt carbon particles - or hydrocarbons commonly known as suspended particles.
(i) Presence of CO2 in larger amount leads to global warming.
(ii) Presence of SO2 and NO2 in larger amount causes acid rains which damages both crops and buildings made-up of marble.
(b) (i) Dust act as pollutant as it lowers visibility. It causes water particles to condense leading to smog.
(ii) Inhalation of dust laden air increases the incidence of allergies, cancer and heart diseases.
