How do embryo gets its nourishment: The embryo gets its nutrition from the mother’s blood by help of a special tissue that is called placenta. It refers to a disc embedded in uterine wall. This has villi on embryo’s side of this tissue. On mothers side lie blood spaces enclosed by villi. It provides large surface area for glucose and oxygen to pass from the mother to embryo.
