The poet, Pam Ayres wishes to give us the message, ‘Prevention is better than cure’ through this poem. According to the poem, teeth need to be cared for with diligence from a young age. Children should set limits to eating sweets including chocolates, toffees, • sweet food, hard sweets, liquorice and pickled sweets. Taking care of the teeth also involves daily brushing of teeth with care.
