Rainbow is an example for continuous spectrum. Explain

  1. A rainbow is a natural spectrum appearing in the sky just after a rain shower.
  2. It is caused by dispersion of sunlight by tiny water droplets present in atmosphere.
  3. In rainbow there are no sharp boundaries in between colours.
  4. Such a spectrum in which there are no sharp boundaries in between colours is known as continuous spectrum.
  5. So, rainbow is also a continuous spectrum.
