Valence Electrons :

  1. The number electrons present in the outermost orbital of an atom are called valence electrons.
  2. Valence electrons depend upon the number of electrons present in that atom.
    Covalency :
  3. The total number of covalent bonds that an atom of an element forms is called covalency of the element
  4. Covalency depend upon the valence electrons.
