Explain the contribution of Vaikkom Muhammad Basheer to Malayplam writing

Vaikkom Muhammad Basheer, was one of the most renowned Muslim novelist in Kerala. He had little formal education. When he was in class five, he left home to take part in Salt Satyagraha.
