A coil is kept perpendicular to the page. At P, current flows into the page and
at Q it comes out of the page as shown in figure Q - 3.What is the direction of magnetic field due to the coil ?

  1. If current flows into the page in downward direction, the field lines are in clockwise direction at P.
  2. At Q it comes out of the page means here the field lines are in anti-clockwise direction.
  3. The resulting magnetic lines of force around it will be on right side away from the coil.
