  1. The poet refers to Tyrolese Valley, using it as a symbol of civilisation which is also one of the many other things that the children will never be a part of.
  2. The expression ‘from fog to endless night’ primarily means from the fog of dawn to night. However, the night is called endless thus indicating that they are stuck in the traps of their poverty till the end of their lives.
