In an experiment, a student put an egg into a container filled with water, it sinks in water but when a lot of salt is dissolved in water, the egg begins to float. What should that student infer technically? Give reason.
On dissolving a lot of salt in water, the density of salt solution becomes higher than that of pure water. Due to this much higher density, the salt solution exerts much more upward buoyant force on the egg, making the egg rise and then begins to float.
